When we go about reading and analyzing the Bible, we come to our own interpretations and perceptions. One of the many topics that are debated is if God truly has a predestined plan or blueprint for us. Sometimes we tend to overthink or overread which can lead us to misinterpret many things about the scriptures because we can be very bias rather than looking at it with open mindedness. When it comes down to whether I believe that God has a plan for me. I believe the answer is yes. In my opinion, God sets out a plan that we must follow and yes we tend to come off that course but with faith we reconnect and find ourselves back on track. I believe that everything happens for a reason, therefore, we must try and stay on track with what we believe is right because God is omnipotent and knows how everythings will plan out.As Christians, we know the love we have for our father and the love he holds for us is never ending. Therefore, we feel the need to pursue the life or path that follow his will and ultimately honors and glorifies our Lord. The question then becomes how exactly do we do that? This is accomplished by following the path God has planned for us. So when it comes time to make a major life decision, most of us experience an intensified interest in discovering God’s will, and we do it with potent passion. We pray for it; we ask others to pray with us and for us, all in hopes that it will become clear what God wants us to do. As we grow older we make our way through the pages of scripture looking for confirmation that God not only has everything under control, but that He also has everything planned out for us. According to the Bible, in the book of Jeremiah 29:11 “For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare & not for harm, to give you a future with hope.” (29:11) According to the church, the God’s will concept is a pervasive idea in the church, it’s an idea that often gives us comfort, but it’s also one that can have dangerous effects on our spiritual life. But, a blueprint is a specific set of instructions that spell everything out in detail. They are so specific that anyone with the ability to read or follow them can build exactly what the architect had in mind you don’t mess with blueprints, you follow them, in detail, without question. From a personal point of view and experiences, I feel that this verse speaks out to me the most. I had a plan set out for myself since I was in high school and when I left to my first year of college it completely changed. I found myself parting from my faith in God. I was depressed and was in the worst state ever. But, I soon came to realize that my Lord had set out a plan and that one wasn’t it. So here I am today, reconnecting with him at a christian university. I encountered spiritually and mentally what that verse really meant in context within my life.
